Graham's Port Lodge Tour: What You Get for $45
The Graham's port lodge tour is a 2-hour guided visit of the working 1890 lodge in Vila Nova de Gaia run by Symington Family Estates, followed by a tasting of Graham's ports in the main room. It costs $45 per person on GetYourGuide and holds a 4.8 rating from 2,192 reviews. Two tasting options change what is poured, from a three-port pairing with food to a four-port essentials flight. This page sets out what the price covers, what the day looks like stop by stop, how to reach the lodge on Rua do Agro, and which other Porto wine tours make a better fit if a single house is not what you want. You can also browse all port wine tours in Porto in one table before you book.
About This Tour
Symington Family Estates opens its 1890 Graham's lodge for a live guided tour in English, French or Spanish. The building still works as a cellar, holding over 2,000 pipes (oak casks) and 40 large oak vats of aging port, plus extensive Vintage Port cellars. The visit ends in the main tasting room with a view over Porto and the two-tier bridge from the terrace.
Two options change what you drink. Premium Tasting with Pairings pours three ports matched with chocolate, cheese and custard tart. Port Essentials pours four ports with no food. Both include the guided tour and the tasting, and the overall experience runs 1h30 to 2 hours.

Key takeaways
- Check what each option pours before you book, then check dates and availability.
- Budget travellers may prefer the cheaper Cálem cellar tour at $25 for 1 hour.
- Want a cheaper single-lodge ticket? The Real Companhia Velha cellar tour starts at $22.
- To see three lodges with 7 tastings, compare the Port Wine Lodges Walking Tour at $64.14 for 3.5 to 4 hours.
What the Price Actually Covers
The $45 ticket buys the guided tour and the tasting for the option you pick. Everything on foot inside the lodge is covered, but transport and food beyond the pairing are not.
Included
Both options include the guided tour of the 1890 Graham's lodge and a tasting of Graham's ports in the main tasting room. The Premium Tasting with Pairings serves Graham's LBV with chocolate, Quinta dos Malvedos with cheese and 20 Year Old with custard tart. Port Essentials pours Blend No5 White, Six Grapes, Quinta dos Malvedos Vintage and 30 Year Old Tawny.
You get a mobile ticket immediately after booking, a live guide in English, French or Spanish, and wheelchair access. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure and reserve now, pay later both apply.

What You May Pay on the Day
Snacks are the stated on-site extra, since no lunch is included. If you book Port Essentials, there is no food with the four pours, and a reviewer notes the premium tasting is already a lot of port, so booking the food pairing is the safer choice on an empty stomach. Transport to the lodge is your own cost.
The cable car, metro fares and a possible second lodge visit are covered further down this page. Tipping is not mentioned in the listing, so budget nothing either way.

What the Day Is Really Like
The listing gives no clock times, only a 2-hour frame and an arrival instruction. Here is the sequence in order.
Arrival and Check-in
Go to Graham's reception at Rua do Agro 141 in Vila Nova de Gaia and arrive 15 minutes before your slot for check-in. The listing warns there is a lot of work in progress in the surrounding area, so leave margin to find the door. There is no hotel pickup, you arrive on your own.
The listing places the lodge on a ridge a few hundred metres from the river's south bank.
The Guided Visit of the 1890 Lodge
A live guide walks you through the history of the cellar, built in 1890, and the production process of port wine. Graham's is still a working cellar, and the building currently houses over 2,000 pipes and 40 large oak vats of aging port, as well as extensive cellars of Vintage Port. You move on foot inside the lodge for this part, and it is wheelchair accessible.
The Terrace View
The listing highlights spectacular views of Porto's historic centre and the two-tier Dom Luís I bridge from the ridge. Build a few minutes here for photos before or after the tasting, since the view is one of the listing's highlights.
The Tasting in the Main Room
The visit ends in the main tasting room. Premium Tasting with Pairings lines up Graham's LBV with chocolate, Quinta dos Malvedos with cheese and 20 Year Old with custard tart. Port Essentials pours Blend No5 White, Six Grapes, Quinta dos Malvedos Vintage Port and 30 Year Old Tawny, four ports and no food.
The whole experience, visit and tasting together, runs 1h30 to 2h. The listing describes the pace as leisurely and states no return point.

Who This Tour Rules Out
This is a single-lodge visit with real practical limits. Check them before you book, because several are fixed.
Check These Limits First
Pets are not allowed, though assistance dogs are. There is no hotel pickup, so you cross the river yourself. The listing warns of road works in the surrounding area, which can add friction to a tight schedule, so arrive the full 15 minutes early.
Group size is not stated on the listing, and the minimum age is not stated either, though port is usually 19-22% alcohol per the IVDP. If you want several houses and more pours in one walk, the Port and Douro Wine Tasting Tour visits 3 lodges with 9 tastings for $56.12, and the Port Wine Cellars Tour (3 Cellars) caps its group at 12 for $61.84.
Getting There and Adding a Second Lodge
Graham's is at Rua do Agro 141 in Gaia. Here is how to reach it from the Ribeira side, and which lodges make a workable second stop.
Crossing from Ribeira to Gaia
From Porto's Ribeira, walk across the lower deck of the Ponte Luís I on foot. The lower deck carries public transport, taxis and pedestrians, and the bridge was finished in 1886 with a main span of 172.5 metres. For the high route, Metro line D crosses the upper deck to Jardim do Morro at the Gaia end.
A Z2 single metro ticket costs €1.40, a 10-pack €14, and the Andante card itself €0.60. The Teleférico de Gaia cable car runs from the riverside Cais de Gaia station up to Jardim do Morro in 3 minutes 45 seconds, at €7 one way or €10 return for adults. From Jardim do Morro or the bridge, walk on to Rua do Agro 141, and the listing's road works warning makes extra time sensible.

A Second Lodge the Same Afternoon
After a 1h30 to 2h visit at Graham's, one more lodge fits a relaxed afternoon. These Gaia houses publish their own visit prices, sold on the lodges' own sites and not part of this $45 ticket:
| Lodge | Own visit | What it pours |
|---|---|---|
| Ferreira, Av. Ramos Pinto 70 | €23, 50 min, Porto Ferreira Visit | 3 ports, White, Ruby and Tawny |
| Burmester, Largo Ponte Luiz I | €22, Classic Tasting | 2 ports, by the lower deck of the bridge |
| Ramos Pinto, Av. Ramos Pinto | €20, Classic Tasting | 3 ports, with a 17:00 English slot |
| Quevedo Lodge | €16, Porto Discovery, 40 min | 4 ports, minimum 2 people |
If One Lodge Is Not the Plan
If you would rather pay once and walk between several houses, compare the wider range of Porto wine tours first. The DIY route above works well too, since these four lodges all publish their own prices.

Pros and Cons
The honest read, based only on the listing and the stated facts.
What we genuinely like
- A live guide in English, French or Spanish, not an audio track on your phone, at $45 for up to 2 hours
- The lodge is still working, with over 2,000 pipes and 40 large oak vats in the building you walk through
- The Premium option pairs every pour with food, chocolate, cheese and custard tart
- Wheelchair accessible, and free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure
- Terrace views over Porto and the two-tier bridge, plus a 4.8 rating from 2,192 reviews
The honest downsides
- Group size is not stated anywhere on the listing, so you cannot know how crowded the tasting room will be until you arrive
- There is no hotel pickup and no transport included, and the listing warns of road works in the surrounding area
- Port Essentials serves four ports with no food, and a reviewer calls the premium pour a lot of port, so book the pairing if you have not eaten
- Only one lodge is visited, which is thin value if your goal is to compare houses in one afternoon
- Starting times vary by option and language, so the slot you want may not exist on your date
Who it's NOT for: Not for travellers who want several port houses, food beyond the pairing, or hotel pickup in the price, since this ticket covers one lodge and transport is your own.
Questions About This Tour
How much does the Graham's port lodge tour cost?
$45 per person on GetYourGuide, with reserve now and pay later. Free cancellation applies up to 24 hours before departure. For a cheaper single-lodge ticket, the Cálem cellar tour starts at $25 for 1 hour, see the Cálem Cellar Tour.
How long does the visit last?
The booked duration is 2 hours, and the listing states the overall experience of guided visit and tasting runs 1h30 to 2h at a leisurely pace. If you want a longer, multi-house format, compare the Port Wine Lodges Walking Tour at 3.5 to 4 hours.
What is the difference between the two tasting options?
Premium Tasting with Pairings pours three ports with chocolate, cheese and custard tart. Port Essentials pours four ports, Blend No5 White, Six Grapes, Quinta dos Malvedos Vintage and 30 Year Old Tawny, with no food. The pairing option is the safer pick, since a reviewer notes the tasting is a lot of port on its own. Learn the styles in the guide to ruby vs tawny port.
How do I get to Graham's from central Porto?
Walk across the lower deck of the Ponte Luís I from the Ribeira, take Metro line D to Jardim do Morro at the Gaia end, or ride the Teleférico de Gaia up from the riverside for €7 one way. The lodge is at Rua do Agro 141, and the listing warns of road works nearby. More routes are on the Vila Nova de Gaia page.
Is the tour suitable for children or wheelchair users?
The listing states the tour is wheelchair accessible. No minimum age is stated, but port is usually 19-22% alcohol per the IVDP, so the tasting suits adults. Pets are not allowed, assistance dogs excepted.
Is food included?
No lunch is included. The Premium option pairs its three ports with chocolate, cheese and custard tart, and snacks can be purchased as an extra on site. Port Essentials includes no food at all. If food is the point, the Porto Food and Wine Walking Tour serves 10 tastings with a full meal on its 4-hour option.
Can I visit another lodge the same day?
Yes. Ferreira on Av. Ramos Pinto 70 sells its own Porto Ferreira Visit for €23 over 50 minutes, Burmester by the bridge sells a Classic Tasting for €22, and Ramos Pinto has a €20 Classic Tasting with a 17:00 English slot. Compare all the Porto wine tours to plan the day.
What Travelers Said
Perfect in knowledge and experience understanding of the Port wine process and the distinct regions of production. Best of quality and I must suggest looking lunch or dinner directly after at the restaurant. You will not be disappointed in this.
The Lodge at Graham’s is a lovely place with sweeping views of the River Douro. The tour guide at Graham’s was very knowledgeable and taught us about the different varieties of Port wine and how they are aged. The premium tasting included a late bottled vintage ruby port paired with a rich dark chocolate, a Quinta dos Malvedos vintage port paired with good salty cheese and a 20 year Tawny port paired with an apple tart. All the wines were wonderful and the pairing brought out the characteristics of each wine. Our entire party of five loved the experience.
A really enjoyable tour with a knowledgeable tour guide, the port tasting at the end is in an incredible part of the building. I’d have happily stayed there all day, after the tour you can go to the shop and the bar that overlooks the valley
We had a brilliant tour including a port tasting session. Our host was brilliant, giving us all the history of the Graham’s lodge. She was very welcoming and friendly. We would recommend this to anyone visiting Porto!
I purchased and experienced the premium wine tasting so I got the 20 year Tawny Port, the one from the specific vineyard (milvados??) and then another one. I must say.. I feel like it was a fair price what I paid for the food and drinks. It’s good to know the history behind the wine and this particular vineyard got started.
